Getting Home Ready for Fall 🍁

Getting Home Ready for Fall 🍁

Up here in Minnesota, fall doesn't wait around. One week it's sweet corn, and the next you're digging out sweatshirts. So I like to get the house ready a little at a time. 🍁

First, I clean. I wash the windows, shake out the rugs, and open the house up one last time before it gets cold.

Next, I swap out a few things. Summer stuff goes in the closet and the cozy things come out, like a light quilted throw for the couch. I don't redo the whole house, just a few spots that I see every day.

Then I bring the outside in. I fill a pitcher on the counter with dried grasses, branches, or whatever's growing by the ditch. It costs nothing and looks like fall.

Last, I add a few pumpkins. Real ones go on the steps, and a few little ones go in a bowl on the table where the children can't knock them over. πŸŽƒ

That's it. Nothing styled or perfect, just a home that feels warm when you walk in from the cold.
